You can make all the natural cleaning products with just a few essential ingredients :

- Lemons
- Baking soda / bicarbonate of soda

- Distilled water.

Water based natural cleaning products will store better longer made with distilled water. You can very easily make your own …
Safety & Storage Of DIY Natural Cleaning Products
Natural cleaning products can like commercial cleaning products be toxic for humans and animals.
They include fewer risky chemicals but we still need to use them carefully and store them safely.
We also need to balance the risks of synthetic chemicals against the risk of bacteria and infection for our families at different times.
I mostly use DIY cleaning products but a nasty digestive bug in the family or a pet changes the risks for me, so I do stock a commercial disinfectant for occasional use.
All Purpose Cleaning Spray
For an all purpose natural cleaning spray to cut through grease and grime easily, mix in a spray bottle :

If you don’t have distilled water and just want enough spray for a quick clean, add 1 teaspoon of Castile or dish soap to a cup of hot water, give it a good shake and use right away.
Most of the time soap and water really is all we need to contain grease, grime and germs effectively!!

The cheapest way to disinfect your toilet without forking out for a fancy eco friendly toilet cleaner is simply to combine in a squeezy bottle :

The fragrance of the dish soap will offset the vinegar and help give your toilet a really good shine.
But do go very easy on the dish soap else you’ll have bubbles everywhere!!
Natural Cream Toilet Cleaner
If you want a natural cream toilet cleaner simply combine :
- 1 tablespoon of sodium bicarbonate or percarbonate

This is one natural cleaning recipe where you can’t swap dish soap for Castile soap as the amount you need for a creamy cleaner will have bubbles over flowing on the floor.
Natural Toilet Stain Remover
To clean horrid stains off the bottom of a toilet, last thing at night :

Wooden Floor Cleaner
There’s a great debate about the best way to clean wooden floors naturally.
Some people swear the best method is to mop with a combination of :
- 1/4 cup of olive oil.
- 1/2 cup of white vinegar.
- 4 cups of hot water.
- Enough lemon juice to offset vinegar.
Whilst others swear that the vinegar damages the wood and the best cleaner is :
- 1 teaspoon of Castile soap.
- 4 cups of warm water.
- 5 drops or so of almond oil
- Or a tablespoon of olive oil.
Personally I go for the Castile soap but that is not based on any science at all!!
Whichever method you choose, make sure your mop or floor cleaner is only slightly damp – you definitely don’t want your wooden floor soggy.
All Purpose Floor Cleaner
If you want an all purpose quick floor cleaner you can use on all floors, combine in a spray bottle :

And there you go, a whole load of quick and easy natural cleaning recipes to keep your home clean.
