Broadstairs

To Broadstairs on the train for old fashioned fun in the sun.

Less than 90 minutes direct on a swish train from St Pancras.

And a 10 minute stroll down the hill to Viking Bay.

Our favourite of the 4 Broadstairs beaches.

Botany Bay is more beautiful but it's half an hour on the bus.

Viking Bay is perfect for little ones.

Everything ... food, loos, emergency beach supplies ... is on hand.

And at the north end of the beach the sea is sheltered so we could paddle happily without being hit by pesky waves.

We had supper on the Parade looking out over the sea.

Then hopped on the 7 O'Clock train back to St Pancras and were snug in our beds not much after 9.
