Just 10 Things – 109 Torches & Lanterns

September 9, 2018 by Alice Leave a Comment

Declutter torches and lanterns
Clutter IS overwhelming.

And that’s WHY yanking it all out is SUCH a disaster for SO many of us.

We feel even more overwhelmed.

Even more anxious.

Even more frozen by our inability to choose.

And we get almost instant “decision fatigue”.

We just can’t decide what to keep.

Get thoroughly depressed realising just how much we have.

And end up with a huge mess all over the floor.

Which leaves us longing to do nothing more than crawl under our duvets.

And hide in the dark.

Away from ALL our stuff.

BUT there is a path out of this darkness.

And to light our way we need to focus our declutter – like a lantern – on JUST the 10 steps in front.

And then the next 10.

And then the next 10.

Until we are walking again in the light free from the dark burden of our clutter.

Enjoying the freedom of our own space.

And quite wonderfully our little lantern can light the way for others.

Those small steps we take to declutter everyday can inspire our families and friends to free themselves from the tyranny of too much stuff.

So today we’re going to make sure we’ve got a torch or lantern or two that ACTUALLY work.

And we’re going to let go of the extras that don’t …

If you’re following along with my quick daily declutter, read on. BUT if you’re new do hop back and read how just 10 things can help you declutter easily.

Just 10 Things  – Torches & Lanterns

As always we’ll stick to the just 10 things rules:

  • Take 5 minutes or so, 15 minutes max
  • Focus on torches and lanterns
  • Open our eyes to all those duplicates
  • And without yanking stuff out
  • Spot any we’re ready to let go

Keeping our eyes peeled for …

  1. Flash light
  2. Heavy duty torch
  3. Camping torch
  4. Key ring torch
  5. Headlamp
  6. Pen torch
  7. Storm lantern
  8. Emergency lantern
  9. Solar lantern
  10. Garden lanterns

Well done for all of those you let go.

You can add them to your charity bag. Or may be able to offload as a job lot with the lights and lighting accessories from yesterday and the day before.

Now some homes – like mine – may have lots of torches.

I think they may be breeding in my house!!

But other homes not so many.

And you might not have found 10 things to let go today.

But day by day it evens out. AND all adds up to MORE lovely space.

Until we can see the light at the end of the tunnel.

I hope today's gentle declutter prompt helped.
