Chuck out chocolate?
Are you crazy?
You scream.
BUT stick with me.
BECAUSE we ARE onto something BIG here!
Loads of us have expired, inedible chocolate.
In our cupboards.
Forgotten soft centres in a box no one likes.
Easter eggs our kids never got to.
BECAUSE they had so many.
Slightly manky sweets that have been there since before time.
Half licked lollies. And sticks of rock.
It’s NOT nice is it?
BUT so many of us have it.
AND even IF you don’t have the grotty stuff.
I bet you’ve got a STOCKPILE of sweet things.
Which is beyond crazy when SO many of our families are suffering with diabetes.
And other sugar caused diseases.
HOWEVER it goes further than that.
Stocking up on loads of treats.
So we NEVER miss out.
Means they STOP being treats.
And the pleasure they give us.
Falls right down.
This is a massive problem in our family lives.
We all have MORE than we can enjoy.
So NOTHING is special.
And NOTHING makes us happy.
So today we’re going to reclaim happy.
And to do that.
We’re going to chuck out some chocolate … 🙂
If you’re following along with my quick daily declutter, read on. BUT if you’re new do hop back and read how just 10 things can help you declutter easily.
Just 10 Things – Confectionery
As always we’ll stick to the just 10 things rules:
- Take 5 minutes or so, 15 minutes max
- Focus on our confectionery stockpiles
- Open our eyes to the expired, grotty and we’ll never eat it stuff
- And without yanking everything out
- Spot sweet things to let go
Keeping your eyes peeled for …
- Candy
- Lollies
- Mints
- Gum
- Chocolate bars
- Boxes of chocolates
- Easter eggs
- Toffee & fudge
- Marshmallows
- Lozenges
Chuck expired & grotty stuff.
Then perhaps ask around.
Is there an old people’s home?
Or a refuge? Somewhere local.
Where confectionery your family will never eat really would be a treat.
Just looking at our crazy stockpiles of sweet stuff.
And letting some go is a great start.
It gets us thinking.
Reminds us.
We don’t want our family’s future to be a lifetime of pills.
BUT for an extra nudge read on.
A Little Nudge
Cutting down on the old sugar feels hard.
Doesn’t it?
BUT focusing on happiness helps.
Make sugar an outside treat.
Go somewhere special once a week.
Take some time.
Sit down together.
Connect.
And truly enjoy the taste.
Savouring it.
It IS so much more pleasurable.
Than the daily grab and go and guilty guzzling.
We ALL fall into.
WITH a stockpile of sweet stuff in our cupboard.
AND with the stockpile gone.
We create even more lovely space in our kitchens.
So they are even easier to keep clean.
Hurrah!
