OK hands up.
Who’s got gunged up paint brushes in their garage?
That they meant to clean.
But somehow didn’t.
Or ragged rollers?
Or blocked spray guns?
Or rusty paint strippers?
Me. Me. Me!!!
It’s kind of depressing isn’t it?
When we’re so bad at looking after our stuff.
We truly don’t meant to be.
We know it’s waste.
BUT we ALL have so much stuff.
We can’t look after half of it properly.
However hard we try.
So today we’re going to let go of those painting supplies that are beyond repair.
PLUS the duplicates and triplicates.
That are making it harder to look after the stuff that is worth keeping …
If you’re following along with my quick daily declutter, read on. BUT if you’re new do hop back and read how just 10 things can help you declutter easily.
Just 10 Things – Painting Supplies
As always we’ll stick to the just 10 things rules:
- Take 5 minutes or so, 15 minutes max
- Focus on painting supplies
- Open our eyes to stuff beyond repair PLUS duplicates
- And without – as far as we can – yanking stuff out
- Spot those we’re ready to let go
Keeping our eyes peeled for old …
- Paint brushes
- Brush cleaner
- Paint remover
- Spray gun
- Rollers
- Roller sleeves
- Trays
- Roller extensions
- Paint buckets
- Paint stripper
If someone else could make use of any of the duplicates add them to the decorating box we started yesterday.
Or if they’re beyond repair bin them.
But do put aside a little time to see if a few could be restored.
Try soaking them for 10 minutes in hot white vinegar.
And then wash with dish washing liquid.
And remember going forward.
That’s all they need to keep them clean and ready to use.
