Apparently.
It’s making a comeback.
Wallpaper that is.
Which is wonderful news for those of us who hadn’t twigged it had, had it’s day.
BUT still does NOT mean.
We will EVER use up all those half finished – or never opened – rolls of wallpaper we’ve been hanging on to since that decorating project some time in the last century!!
So today we’re going to let go of long forgotten rolls of wallpaper.
PLUS all the paraphernalia that goes with wallpapering.
That we’ll never use again …
If you’re following along with my quick daily declutter, read on. BUT if you’re new do hop back and read how just 10 things can help you declutter easily.
Just 10 Things – Wallpaper
As always we’ll stick to the just 10 things rules:
- Take 5 minutes or so, 15 minutes max
- Focus on wallpaper
- Open our eyes to long forgotten rolls of wallpaper and unused wallpapering tools
- And without yanking stuff out
- Spot any we’re ready to let go
Keeping our eyes peeled for old …
- Wallpaper
- Lining paper
- Murals
- Stickers
- Borders
- Paste brushes
- Strippers & scrapers
- Smoothers
- Hanging sets
- Pasting tables
If you’re letting go anything in decent condition, do pop it in the decorating box we started for our excess paint and painting supplies.
Then you can sell it or pass it on easily as a job lot.
Local schools and play groups may also be able to use your old wallpaper and lining paper.
It IS great for collages and big freestyle paintings.
If you’ve got rolls and rolls of old paper.
And you’re beating yourself up for wasting it. PLEASE don’t.
Shops AND websites these days are totally geared up to selling us MORE than we need.
It’s all done in the guise of being helpful.
And making sure we’ve got everything.
When of course it’s really about their profits.
And all it does is waste our money AND clutter up our homes.
So don’t blame yourself.
But do arm yourself – next time you’re shopping – to resist the hard sell.
REMEMBER it is your money.
So don’t waste it.
AND clutter makes you unhappy.
So don’t buy it.
