Just 10 Things – 39 Alcohol

July 1, 2018 by Alice Leave a Comment

Declutter all those bottles of booze you are so never going to drink #declutter #just10things #happierwithout

It’s the worst thing ever.

Isn’t it?

You save that fancy bottle of wine.

Or bubbly.

For a special occasion.

And by the time that comes.

And you actually open it.

It’s errr … yuk!!!

Long gone. Past its best. Had it.

So today we’re going to check out our wine store or bar or corner of a shelf where we keep bottles.

And spot the dusty ones at the back.

That just aren’t getting drunk.

If you’re following along with my quick daily declutter, read on. BUT if you’re new do hop back and read how just 10 things can help you declutter easily.

Just 10 Things  – Alcohol

We’re again going to do things a bit differently today.

I am really not going to suggest you just pour the whole lot down the drain.

But we’ll still stick to the just 10 things rules:

  • Take 5 minutes or so, 15 minutes max
  • Focus on alcohol
  • Open our eyes to the bottles we’ll never drink
  • And without yanking everything out
  • Spot stuff we won’t

Looking out for any bottles of these lying forgotten …

  1. Wine
  2. Champagne & fizz
  3. Vodka
  4. Whisky
  5. Brandy
  6. Beer & lager
  7. Cider
  8. Liqueurs
  9. Port & sherry
  10. Mixers

Now the tricky thing is we’ve NO idea how drinkable most of this stuff is.

And we can’t open the wine, bubbly or beer to find out.

And don’t want to be necking spirits at 9.30 in the morning!!

So create a little use it or lose it space for stuff you will drink if its OK.

And mentally decide a time in the next 4 weeks – MAX – to drink it.

Obviously this can’t be when you’ve got company who won’t be up for the challenge 🙂

If you’ve got anything you don’t drink, quickly mail a local friend or two who does.

Just be totally honest and say you’ve no idea what state it’s in.

BUT it’s all their’s if they want it.

If you can’t find anyone to take it.

Ditch it.

It is waste BUT it was already wasted sitting on the shelf undrunk.

I hope today's gentle declutter prompt helped.
