Just 10 Things - 54 Cards & Invites

Published: Jul 16, 2018 by Alice · This post may contain affiliate links · Leave a Comment

Our memories are safe - we don't need all the cards and invites we ever received #declutter #clutterfreehome #simplify

It's lovely moment isn't it?

When you get a card in the post.

Or an invitation.

It's a connection.

A mark of attention.

A little instant in which we feel acknowledged.

Loved.

They're such simple things.

But they can make our day.

So we cling onto them.

ALL of them.

Every last birthday card. Thank you note. And mother's day scribble.

Until TOGETHER they become a problem.

Another mass of things.

Demanding space.

Spilling out everywhere.

And NOT lovely.

Just another collection of clutter.

We have no space or time to enjoy.

And have NO idea what to do with.

So today we're going to let go of some of our card and invites.

Not all of them.

But those that have had their moment.

If you're following along with my quick daily declutter, read on. BUT if you're new do hop back and read how just 10 things can help you declutter easily.

Just 10 Things  - Cards & Invites

I'm guessing.

You don't have all these little momentos in one place.

So we'll do a variation on the usual just 10 things process.

And rather than set a timer.

We'll make cards and invites our mental focus for the day.

Keeping our eyes open for them as we get on with other things.

Look out in particular for ...

  1. Postcards
  2. Thank yous
  3. Birthday cards
  4. Christmas cards
  5. Valentines
  6. Congratulations
  7. Mothers day
  8. Save the dates
  9. Party invites
  10. Wedding invites

And let go any we're ready to.

It's NOT about being brutal.

It's NOT about forgetting the past.

But recognising they've done their job.

They brought us joy in one moment in time.

And only a few special momentos can do more than that.

So let the others go.

And give yourself space to enjoy the special moments to come.

I hope today's gentle declutter prompt helped.
