OK.
We’ve spent the last ten days.
Opening our eyes to all the different cleaning stuff cluttering our kitchens.
AND spilling out into garages.
And beyond.
We’ve talked about how little we really need.
And let go of unused stuff every day.
And have created space.
So we can see what’s left.
A few old work horses hopefully.
Who truly earn their keep.
BUT I bet you.
There’s still unused, wasted stuff left.
So today, we’re going to look again.
And see what other cleaning stuff we could so happily make do without.
If you’re following along with my quick daily declutter, read on. BUT if you’re new do hop back and read how just 10 things can help you declutter easily.
Just 10 Things – Cleaning
As always we’ll stick to the just 10 things rules:
- Take 5 minutes or so, 15 minutes max
- Focus on unused cleaning products
- Open our eyes to any unused stuff that is NOT earning its keep
- And without yanking stuff out
- Spot any we’re ready to let go
Keep your eyes peeled for these ..
- General cleaning spray
- Bleach
- Cream cleaner
- Cleaning cloths
- Kitchen wipes
- Buckets
- Scrubbing brush
- Disinfectant
- Sponges
- Scrapers & scrubbers
It could be fancy. Grotty. Broken. Expired. Duplicates.
It doesn’t matter.
If you don’t use it let it go.
If you can find 10 brilliant. 20 even better.
Because TODAY I’m pushing you.
Keep stuff you use.
Let go of the leftovers.
AND if you’ve a few minutes spare whizz back through the last 10 days.
See if there’s anything else you’re NOW ready to let go.
As always.
A HUGE well done for anything you let go.
You’ve made space. Brilliant.
AND you’ve slashed your shopping list.
Because you know what you truly need.
And this is unbelievably awesome.
Because one it saves us money.
AND two it keeps clutter out.
Hurrah. Hurrah. Hurrah.
We’re going to do something a bit different in just 10 things tomorrow.
And then we’ll round off the kitchen – for the moment – by hitting our food storage.
But for a final little nudge today, read on.
A Little Nudge
We’ve been told we need chemicals to clean.
Lots of different ones.
So we buy them week in, week out.
They cost us a fortune.
And hog precious kitchen space.
BUT they are a con.
Mostly.
Because we don’t need them.
Soap and hot water.
Or microfiber cloths clean most every day muck just fine.
AND lots of those chemicals are toxic.
They can harm our health.
Our pets. And the planet.
And may encourage super bugs!
Yikes.
So if you haven’t made the switch yet, do have a look at microfibre cloths.
They’re easy to use.
Save money AND space.
AND cut our nasty toxins.
All in all big winners!
