Just 10 Things – 15 Glasses

June 6, 2018 by Alice Leave a Comment

Week in, week out we just don't use all those different glasses do we? Keep a few special ones fine. But if we really needed a load for a party we could borrow them. Let some go ... #minimalism #simplified #livewithless #just10things #happierwithout

Are you a real party animal?

I love a good knees up now and again.

But not every week. Most of us don’t do we?

Though from all the glasses we keep in our cupboards, you’d think we’d got guests galore every night drinking us under the table!

Do we really need so many?

And in so many shapes and sizes?

Not to mention those we daren’t touch in case we smash them.

So today we are going to have a look at our glasses and find those we’re ready to let go.

If you’re following along with my quick daily declutter, read on. BUT if you’re new do hop back and read how just 10 things can help you declutter easily.

Just 10 Things – Drink

As always …

… we’re sticking to our 5 golden rules …

  • Take 5 minutes or so – 15 minutes MAX
  • Focus on our glasses
  • Open our eyes to those we don’t use
  • And without yanking stuff out
  • Spot anything we’re ready to let go

Keep a look out for …

  • Ones you just don’t like
  • Cracked and chipped ones
  • Tarnished ones – though dipping for a minute in white vinegar will clean ones you do like
  • Variations you don’t drink from
  • Duplicates, triplicates and more

And let go of any of these you will be so much happier without …

  1. Wine glasses
  2. Tumblers
  3. High balls
  4. Beer mugs
  5. Champagne flutes
  6. Cocktail glasses
  7. Shot glasses
  8. Brandy glasses
  9. Sherry glasses
  10. Jugs

Wrap any you’re ready to let go in newspaper or some such and put in a charity box.

Or put cracked ones in glass recycling.

Well done for any you let go.

Remember we’re NOT trying to decide for ever on what we’re keeping.

We’re just opening our eyes to the invisible clutter we are actually ready to let go.

And don’t forget.

If you spend 5 minutes letting go of 10 things every day you WILL have 3,650 less things cluttering your home by the end of the year!

But for an extra nudge read on.

A Little Nudge

It’s fun to entertain. To be a great host.

And bring pleasure to friends and family.

But that doesn’t mean we have to OWN everything we need to put on a party.

Friends have glasses that can be borrowed.

And if you take a minute and Google “rent wine glasses” you’ll find local companies who will hire out 30 and more for less than a tenner.

There’s lots NOT to like about technology.

BUT it give us the freedom to borrow not buy.

Use it.

It really helps us let go of clutter.
