Somewhere in the world.
Probably next to the lost sock mountain.
There is a hair bobble-hair clip mountain.
And all the accessories in it are new.
And pristine and pretty.
The huge piles decorating the bathroom and bedroom on the other hand.
Are old and grotty.
AND you can’t actually remember buying them.
AND if you did.
Can’t quite understand why you bought something, no self respecting two year old would leave the house in.
Never mind a grown woman.
So today we’re saying NO to grotty old hair accessories and letting them go …
Just 10 Things – Hair Accessories
As always we’ll stick to the just 10 things rules:
- Take 5 minutes or so, 15 minutes max
- Focus on hair accessories
- Open our eyes to the grotty stuff we don’t wear
- And without yanking stuff out
- Spot any we’re ready to let go
Keep your eyes peeled for any of these …
- Bobbles
- Hair clips
- Grips
- Headbands
- Hair nets
- Sectioning clips
- Alice bands
- Scrunchies
- Hair scissors
- Extensions
… and let them go.
Now, the only thing is.
They seem so small don’t they?
And we’ve got so much other BIG clutter to clear.
BUT you know what?
It is the piles and piles of tiny clutter that cause us the most stress.
Finding one small thing becomes a major hunt.
And ALL day EVERY day our brains have to filter out the NOISE of all this tiny clutter.
Surprisingly they actually have to work super hard to ignore it.
We have so many of these tiny collections of clutter.
Not just hair accessories.
But pencils, pens, rubbers, sewing stuff, DIY stuff, stationary, craft supplies etc etc.
And lots of it IS grotty.
Learning to be pretty ruthless with these collections early on is very powerful.
And even though they’re tiny.
Can make our whole home seem calmer.
So go. Ditch a few more 😉
And enjoy the calm.
