Confession time.
Again.
How many of your recipe books have you actually cooked something out of in the last month?
The last 6 months?
The last year?
The last 5 years?
The last decade?
Seriously.
I had some I had NOT cooked out of in a decade!
BUT I still kept them.
And even moved them to the new house.
Why? Why? Why?
Well it’s the DOUBLE whammy isn’t it?
Food. And stuff.
Us humans are obsessed with both.
So loads of us hand over huge amounts of our kitchen to recipe books.
We NEVER cook from.
And then spend half our time eating take away and ready meals.
IF we’re honest.
It’s NOT a healthy relationship with food.
Or clutter.
Is it?
So today let’s claim back some more space in our kitchens and let go of all those recipe books that are doing NOTHING to put yummy food on the table!
If you’re following along with my quick daily declutter, read on. BUT if you’re new do hop back and read how just 10 things can help you declutter easily.
Just 10 Things – Recipe Books
We’ll stick to the usual just 10 things rules today:
- Take 5 minutes or so, 15 minutes max
- Focus on recipe books
- Open our eyes to all those we NEVER cook from
- And without yanking stuff out
- Spot any we’re ready to let go
Keeping our eyes peeled for …
- Family meals
- Diets
- Baking
- BBQs
- Kids food
- Baby food
- Entertaining
- Preserving
- World food
- Drinks & wines
IF you spot 10 to let go brilliant!
But EVEN one out of your home is great.
Chipping away day by day at our clutter changes our whole relationship with stuff.
We start to question the stuff we’ve taken for granted.
The stuff taking up precious space.
The unused stuff.
The unloved stuff.
AND we see for ourselves.
Our world doesn’t come to an end.
IF we let go of one or two or three or more recipe books.
We see for ourselves that SPACE – lovely, beautiful, clutter free space – actually makes us happy.
We see for ourselves that we are happier without clutter.
So go on. Let some recipe books go today.
