You know what it’s like.
You’re running late.
You need to look smart.
Or at least the right side of vaguely presentable.
And you can NOT find a single pair of tights.
Without ladders.
Or holes.
Or a gusset that falls beneath your knees!!!
In the whole of that HUGE, enormous pile of tights and stockings cluttering up your drawer.
So now you’re running even later.
When hurrah!
You find them.
Ladder free – tick.
Gusset above knee – tick.
Hole in heel – eeeek!!
And you try to work out IF you can get through the day.
WITHOUT your shoe slipping.
To reveal all.
And the clock keeps ticking.
Heeeeelllllpppp!!!
Well … I’m sorry.
We’re always going to get laddered tights aren’t we?
And it’s always going to be a pain.
BUT it would be a whole lot EASIER.
If we didn’t have to hunt through a mountain of tights we will NEVER wear again to find the ladder free ones.
So today let’s ditch those we WILL never wear.
If you’re following along with my quick daily declutter, read on. BUT if you’re new do hop back and read how just 10 things can help you declutter easily.
Just 10 Things – Tights & Stockings
We’ll stick to the just 10 things rules today:
- Take 5 minutes or so, 15 minutes max
- Focus on our tights and stockings
- Open our eyes to forgotten ones
- And without yanking them all out
- Spot any we’re ready to let go
Keeping our eyes peeled for all of these …
- Laddered
- Holes
- Gigantic
- Saggy gusset
- Woolly
- Sheer – when you always wear opaque
- Opaque – when you always wear sheer
- Hold ups – when they don’t. Hold up that is!
- Stockings – when you’re beyond them.
- Fancy – when they’re just not you.
Unwanted tights – like socks – can go to fabric recycling.
If you’re not sure where to take recycling and donations locally then why not recruit a bunch of local friends to declutter daily with you.
You can then support each other.
Finding out about charity shops, refuges, food banks, door stop collections and recycling centres who will take your clutter.
And taking it in turns to drop stuff off each week.
Decluttering with friends makes it more fun and easier.
AND is a wonderful way to stay motivated.
You could even start a little local Facebook or WhatsApp group in which you share the daily prompts.
PLUS all your best tips for letting go of stuff locally.
