Just 10 Things – 60 Hobby Books

July 22, 2018 by Alice Leave a Comment

Declutter all those hobby books you've collected over the years and give yourself space to actually enjoy your hobby #declutter #clutterfreehome

Anyone got a NEW hobby?

Yep?

They’re fun aren’t they? When they’re new.

BECAUSE …

There’s ALL the excitement of getting into something.

AND they give us the perfect excuse.

To order on Amazon.

A whole shed load of new hobby books.

Which obviously we won’t read.

Because if we’re totally honest that’s not really why we buy them.

Is it?

It’s just because we like buying stuff on Amazon.

And if we’re being totally honest “buying stuff on Amazon” is in fact one of our main hobbies these days.

It’s just SO cheap isn’t it?

Well. NOT really.

BECAUSE all those hobby books we buy and barely or never open TAKE UP SPACE.

And the space in our homes is precious.

It’s the space we need to live and laugh and love in.

It shouldn’t be handed over to Amazon’s profit line lightly.

So today let’s say goodbye to all those big heavy hobby books we don’t open …

If you’re following along with my quick daily declutter, read on. BUT if you’re new do hop back and read how just 10 things can help you declutter easily.

Just 10 Things  – Hobby Books

We’ll stick to the just 10 things rules today:

  • Take 5 minutes or so, 15 minutes max
  • Focus on all those hobby books
  • Open our eyes to those we never open AND someone else could enjoy much more
  • And without yanking stuff out
  • Spot any we’re ready to let go

Keeping our eyes peeled for all these books …

  1. Gardening
  2. Sports
  3. DIY
  4. Nature & wildlife
  5. Theatre & film
  6. History
  7. Collectables
  8. Fashion
  9. Home decor
  10. Healthy living

Donate them. Or trade them in.

And keep an eye on yourself.

Watch out for your Amazon habit.

Start to recognise your triggers for buying.

And put a fall back in place.

It could be as simple as go for a walk.

Or call a friend.

Just have something ready.

You can do instantly.

When you’re tempted.

To buy books on Amazon you’ll never read.

I hope today's gentle declutter prompt helped.
