Extra! Extra!
Read all about it!
Get the latest news!
EXCEPT is it not.
The latest news.
It’s last week’s.
Or last month’s.
Or even last year’s.
Piled up around our homes.
On coffee tables. And work tops.
And by beds.
And under chairs.
And NOT just newspapers.
But newsletters. And membership magazines.
And the like.
And they’re all OLD news.
And we’re NOT going to read them again.
And unless they’re reporting England winning the World Cup or some such – AND that would be news! – they’re not worth keeping.
So today we’re going to declutter all the old news lying around our homes.
And enjoy the space …
If you’re following along with my quick daily declutter, read on. BUT if you’re new do hop back and read how just 10 things can help you declutter easily.
Just 10 Things – Newspapers & Magazines
As you’ve almost certainly got newspapers and magazines scattered everywhere we won’t follow the usual just 10 things process.
Instead we’ll do a mini power purge.
Set a timer for 5 to 15 minutes.
Whizz around grabbing any of these we spot …
- Newspapers
- Magazines
- Comics
- Journals
- School newsletters
- Club newsletters
- Sports programmes
- Theatre programmes
- Calendars
- Diaries
And get them in the recycling.
If you haven’t got the energy for whizzing.
Just make newspapers and magazines your mental focus for the day.
Spot them as you get on with other stuff.
And recycle them.
